Autumn winter is my favourite time of year, it's cold and I can finally wear layers (I try all year round) and all the things i've knitted up in the past month or so, the food is better nothing beats stews and soups and cinnamon on every darn thing. I thought I'd share a sweet (and very naughty) little treat to get you in the autumnal feeling, which I am diving headfirst into.
Be warned, this isn't a healthy recipe and I am once again sharing my love for everything cinnamon flavoured. Thank goodness it's finally autumn and acceptable for me to have cinnamon on just about everything. I would claim this is healthy because you pop your own corn but one look at the recipe tells me that would be a big lie. But everyone needs a treat and I'm pretty sure this is going to be my go to this season.
You'll need:
1/2 cup of popcorn kernels
2 tablespoons butter melted
1 + 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
4 tablespoons icing sugar
Pop your corn in a large non stick pan, i've made the mistake of using a metal one before and it took weeks to get the smell of burnt popcorn from the kitchen. while you melt the butter ready to pour over.
In a separate bowl mix together the icing sugar and cinnamon. Once your popcorn is done popping pour over the melted butter so that it coats the corn ready for the icing sugar.
Add the popcorn to the bowl and shake until it's all covered in the cinnamony sugary goodness. This bowl actually has a lid but you could pop a pan lid over to stop the icing sugar from covering the kitchen.
And then of course, enjoy!
